Chad was diagnosed with basal cell carcinoma (skin cancer) on his left lower eyelid. He had this removed and then had to have the lower lid reconstructed so that his eye could look somewhat normal and tears would not just fall out of his eye. Here are some pictures documenting our journey:
After surgery 1 (above) Most of what the doctor took out was on the inside of the lower lid. Sorry this is so blurry...

eew. eew. eew. i am very sorry that chad had to have surgery. however, i do feel that it's somewhat appropriate that something that random would happen with you two. i miss you being close by. if only we could all make gingerbread houses again at christmas. :(

Ouch! That looks painful! Tell Chad that I hope he gets better soon! How are you two doing?
Yikes. I'm glad the bandage was on when we wnet out to dinner...Miya would have freaked out. :)

Glad all is well and hope Chad feels better soon.
I think I would've liked a little more blurry... I don't have a very strong stomach! Chad, get everything you can out of it... play up the cancer especially at school! Best of luck with the recovery!!! P.S. this is Megan even though its showing mom I'm just in her account.
So sorry he had to go through all that, but we are very glad he is doing well and recovering!!
That doesn't look like very much fun. We are sorry that you had to do that. Especially while you are busy doing so many other things. We are sad that we can't paint/carve pumpkins with you guys this year. Get well soon!
